  • a new closet and warm library section. In addition to organizing the closet, we made a library up top of the client’s scattered book piles, and hung the little flying pigs to give warmth and height to the space.

  • before and after closet makeover. Underutilized vertical spaced, unzoned piles, a traffic jam on the rack, transformed into a legible system making good use of all the available space.

  • small changes, large effect. A painting moved, a table changed orientation, and all the clutter on the bed went from permanently floating to being assigned homes in zones within closet and dresser.

  • everybody needs a to-do bin. Everybody. Needs. A to-do bin. Or two! “To be returned. To be repaired. To be mailed to a friend.” The list goes on – everyone always has something in that in between category, and it all needs a dedicated zone so it does

  • drawer before, drawer after. An overflowing scramble of Stuff became a well zoned system with a clear dresser surface.

BASEMENTS

  • A twenty year archive, logically stacked with room for more. A new office space and library emerged in the rear of the room, as as well as a large flat storage for art.

  • A clog, a jam, an overwhelming tangle. Decades of papers, trinkets, wine, furniture, books, and art, all rolled into one jumbo PILE.

  • space doctors after image. Walls that seemed grim now seem blue. A room that seemed like a small hallway now feels like a cozy nook, with enough room on the ground to stretch.

  • A guest room used as storage makes your visitor feel like a burden tucked in a cupboard.

    After pruning the clothing collection, we brought in new structural elements to give everything a home. Closet revamps don’t need to cost a lot! One Ikea shelf and a shoe holder made a big difference here.

    There are pots with plastic handles living in this oven for storage! Underutilized vertical space is making a major New York situation.

    The oven no longer needs to be a storage closet, now that we’ve added little golden hooks to the underside of this shelf for the pots and pans to hang, and mounted a lid holder on the wall by the stove. Take that, NYC!
