  • Geometry & Movement

I always advise finding a chair that lets you PERCH, like have your knees lower than your hips, and have a desk thats uppy tilted if you can. Being able to switch between perching and sitting is part of a dynamic office schema, as is having movement oriented seating.

It is ideal to have a SIT STAND desk and a SIT STAND chair, and to shift between these modes whenever you feel called to.

    DESK

Get at sit/stand desk from ANYWHERE as long as it goes up and down with ease, low barrier to changing the height. Ideally with the electronic buttons to send it up and dow, but on budgie you can get a crank model from Ikea.

    ERGODYNAMICS

Ergonomics is a term we should toss and move past.

ergon = work -omics = economics

Ergonomics is a Taylorist term, which considers the health of the worker only insofar as it affects their productivity, their output.

Ergodynamics accepts that “ergo” is now functionally indicates “body” and shifts the emphasis from profit to movement, circulation, bloodflow for its own healthful sake.
